Warm clothing info

Because the weather in Maine can be fairly unpredictable it is important to us that we make sure our clients are prepared for anything mother nature might throw our way. Below you will find a list of required gear/clothing for clients to bring with them.

We also have a few tips in regards to clothing that will help you stay the most comfortable, all day so that you can focus solely on having a good time and catching fish.

Dress in layers. we have a lot of cold days out on the ice. Even though we will have a heated ice shack to hangout in and get warm. It is important to be layered up with quality winter gear.

We also have a lot of beautiful, warm, and sunny days out there as well. Dressing in layers will allow you to shed the heavy jackets and cool off when the sun is shining.

  • Warm, insulated winter boots with heavy wool socks, make sure your heavy socks aren't too tight on your feet/ankles because the lack of circulation will make your feet cold.

  • Base layer, long johns; avoid cotton. Wool or Merino wool is a good option.

  • Mid Layer, polar fleece or heavy wool sweater. Sometimes two mid layers are required if it's really cold.

  • Water resistant snow pants.

  • Warm winter jacket.

  • Winter mittens or gloves .

  • Warm winter hat.

  • Sunglasses and sunscreen are helpful for combating the sun's reflection off of the ice and snow.

Alcohol policy

Clients are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages and enjoy them out on the ice while we are fishing. I reserve the right to cancel the trip at anytime if I feel a client is visibly intoxicated or behaving irresponsibly. No refund will be granted if I cancel the trip due to the behavior or intoxication level of a client.
